Mel Patterson, Associate Pastor and Worship Arts

Mel has served as worship arts pastor at First Baptist Riverview since early 2007. He is married to Sandy, the love of his life and has two young sons.

He is an established worship leader with an energetic style that motivates and brings congregations to their feet in joy and praise.  Mel is a true worshipper himself, believing strongly that it is important to adapt in any venue.  He has led worship and participated in crusades, revivals and conferences in 39 states and across three countries, sharing the stage with spiritual patriarchs, professional athletes, U.S. Senators, and most notably, a former President of the United States. Integrating music, drama, and dance into his ministry, Mel brings a wide range of talents to the stage backed up by his technical skills.

At First Baptist Riverview, Mel leads the Creative Worship Arts team and works closely with the senior pastor to develop innovative ways to communicate God’s Word.  His passion is to use all the tools and gifts at his disposal to introduce those that we encounter to our Lord and Savior.
