Making Room is a journey we began as a church in the fall of 2018 to make room in our hearts and on our campus for those who need Christ. Knowing many individuals and families in our community are unreached, we launched a plan to better reach our neighbors with the gospel.
That vision has not changed! In fact, God has continued to stir our hearts for His Kingdom-mission, and with so many moving to our region in recent years, the strategic opportunity for the gospel has never been greater!

Making Room is a spiritual initiative that we began in 2018 in response to God’s vision for First Riverview to make more room in our hearts and on our church campus. Making Room matters because all people matter to God.
There are people in our community who have not been reached with the good news of Christ. Not everyone in our neighborhoods attends church, much less walks with Christ, but God loves these people.

Clearly, it's no longer 2018. We're pleased to share that we've completed Phase 1 of our Making Room initiative. We are entering the next chapter (Phase 2) of this vision! Making Room is an opportunity to join our hearts in fulfilling God’s mission for our church to influence others to become thriving followers of Christ. Let’s offer ourselves to that mission!

Phase 2:
Ministry Center with secured spaces for children and youth, fellowship hall/multiuse space, and rooms for LifeGroups and other ministries. Renovation of existing space in the main building to provide admin offices and eliminate our aging education/fellowship hall buildings
Phase 1: Creating a Strong Foundation for Ministry and Growth
Phase 1 focused on remodeling the Worship Center to create a more intimate worship experience, expanding gathering areas to support fellowship and better service flow for multiple services. The project included enlarging restrooms to accommodate the future Children’s Wing and upgrading infrastructure to meet current commercial building codes. Additionally, civil work was completed to support future expansion, including relocating the retention pond and preparing a pad-ready site for the upcoming Ministry Center.
Phase 1: Creating a Strong Foundation for Ministry and Growth
Phase 1 focused on remodeling the Worship Center to create a more intimate worship experience, expanding gathering areas to support fellowship and better service flow for multiple services. The project included enlarging restrooms to accommodate the future Children’s Wing and upgrading infrastructure to meet current commercial building codes. Additionally, civil work was completed to support future expansion, including relocating the retention pond and preparing a pad-ready site for the upcoming Ministry Center.
Phase 2: Creating Space for Effective Ministry and Discipleship
Phase 2 will focus primarily on construction of a new Ministry Center building attached to the east end of the current Worship Center and expanding to fill much of the pad-ready space before the north driveway accessing Palmetto St. With an emphasis on multiuse spaces, this new building will enhance in function and square footage our ability to meet most of the remaining ministry needs of our church. We anticipate that this second phase will provide the following:
- Secured Children’s & Student Ministry Spaces
- Fellowship Hall/Multiuse Space
- Adult LifeGroup Space
- Administrative Offices
- General Site/Parking Lot Refresh
- Worship Center Café/Seating Area
