Why you don't want to miss this seminar...

The Parenting is Heart Work material by Dr. Scott Turansky and Joanne Miller is designed to equip parents in a heart-based approach to parenting. Since then, this important resource has become a centerpiece among the many resources offered by The National Center for Biblical Parenting. Many parents focus primarily on behaviors in an attempt to restrain or get their kids to follow instructions. This approach to parenting usually works for a time but doesn't produce the lasting change we're looking for. Often, parents become increasingly frustrated and give in to reactive parenting or anger. This cycle can become even more challenging in the teenage years, as children begin to assert levels of independence and parents grow increasingly discouraged. The mission of the National Center for Biblical Parenting is to equip parents in a heart-based approach to parenting that produces lasting change in their children. Our workshop will draw upon these principles to help grow your parenting skills in new ways and strengthen your family!

What we'll cover...

The most common complaint parents have is that kids don't follow instructions. You'll learn a five-step process for giving instructions and how to teach your children five skills for receiving instructions. Parents love this, because they leave with a plan for what to work on in family life.
We also provide parents with seven categories of consequences and show them how to use those consequences to bring about heart change in their kids. You'll learn what repentance is and how to introduce it into the correction process in order to help children make changes on a deeper level that persists beyond the moment. Finally, you'll learn the enormous benefits of ending every discipline time with a positive conclusion, which helps build long-term health into your children and family.

A personal invite...

Cyndi and I have four daughters, now ages 17-24, and we understand the challenges that come with being a parent. For well over 20 years now, we have benefited from the parenting principles of the National Center for Biblical Parenting. These concepts transformed our family! While raising a family is a wonderful gift from God, the journey is filled with challenges, and parenting is hard work, particularly in our world today. We are excited to offer this valuable resource to the families of First Riverview and our community. Cyndi and I want to personally invite you to join us for this important day!

Hope to see you there!
